When we started to develop the olive grove, there were no buildings, no structures,
just barren land. We had to build sheds and a place to meet, work, study and celebrate.

Our friend and famous local artist Denis Allard happily accepted our
commission to build in collaboration with local crafts-man James Coffey
several sheds and the now famous Lakelands Pavilion.
Artistic vision, ingenious 'Bush-craftsmanship' and our wish for harmony
between land and buildings were the best ingredients.

The Pavilion is a reflection of nearby historic 'Ilford House', where Denis
lives and works. It is here where he crafted his version of a traditional
olive mill, which is now a prominent sculpture featured in the grove.

We then asked Denis to paint his vision of the Lake, the Pavilion & the Grove.
His painting is the main feature of our label, our trademark and homepage.

Many hours of hard work, staff training, frustration, endurance, physical and
mental exhaustion, the wonder of the first harvest, the taste of the first oil and
our famous harvest celebrations have all led to the Lakelands Olives team motto:
'We can and we will do it'

Finally, what could be more rewarding than the 'good oil' and a happy team?
